Marnie Simpson has reportedly quit Geordie Shore after five years.

The 26-year-old is said to be leaving the hit MTV reality show in order to take her career to the next level.

She joined the cast in 2013 and has enjoyed five years of boozing on the Toon, but now she’s apparently calling it a day.

But her decision could have something to do with her relationship with new boyfriend Casey Johnson.

They’re still going strong after meeting on another MTV show, Single AF.

Marnie has been on the show for five years

It’s said she wants to move on in her career

And Marnie recently told Mirror Online that her days on the show could have been numbered because of how much she missed Casey while she was filming in Newcastle.

She told us: “When I was in a relationship with Lewis [Bloor] I knew he was cheating, but when I went in this time I was happy, I just missed him [Casey] but I feel safe with him and I know he wouldn’t hurt me.”

Casey added: “At the end of the day it’s a big job and I’m not going to go into it, but they get paid good so it would be stupid to give that up.”

And Marnie said: “It’s awful [being there without him], I just miss him so much, I miss his cuddles and his laugh and it’s just horrible being in there without him, but I still have fun with the girls.”

A source has now told The Sun Online that Marnie won’t be returning to the show for the next series.

They said: “Marnie has loved her time on Geordie Shore but it’s time for her to move on.

“She will still be around for this series but that’s it – she won’t return for the next.”

Marnie has had many ups and downs during her time on the show, including her on-off relationship with co-star Aaron Chalmers.

She’s on the current series, but won’t return

She tweeted that the show was fake and scripted

The insider added: “Marnie’s got loads of exciting opportunities coming up including new TV shows so she won’t be off screens for long.”

Just last night, Marnie tweeted that the show was “fake and scripted” when a fan noticed something odd about her birthday celebrations.

She later deleted the tweet.

Marnie’s rep did not want to comment when contacted by Mirror Online.
