They have both left their marriages to be together after meeting on set of telly thriller Fargo – and Mary Elizabeth Winstead’s husband Riley Stearns has made no secret of his devastation over the break.
It is thought Ewan McGregor and co-star Mary became attracted to one another as they shot the black comedy crime drama on location in Canada in 2017.
Scottish actor Ewan and Mary were both away from home from January to April, shotting in Alberta and Calgary. When they returned back to the US they told their other halves their marriages were over.
Mary’s husband Riley, who deleted his Twitter after admitting he was too bitter not to post disparaging comments about his ex, visited his wife on set and shared pictures of their time together in Alberta.
In a particularly romantic Instagram post, he wrote: “As if there was any doubt who the most inspiring woman in my life is [inserted Mary’s Instagram handle – this is now deleted] (pic from when we did a crazy science inspired drink tasting menu on an emprty stomach and accidentally got very very drunk.”
He also shared pictures from Alberta of the pair dining and said after he returned in March, “missing Banff already.”
It comes just after the split when Riley took aim at her Ewan on Instagram.
The film director and TV writer told the A-list couple they were “f***ing dead” in a rant that appears to belong to Winstead’s ex.
Screenshots from the unverified account obtained by the Daily Mail show Stearns slamming the Scottish actor for “f***ing the woman of his dreams”.
The now deleted post reads: “Call me a cuck, will ya? Laugh at me, will ya?”
“F*** the woman of my dreams behind my back, will ya? @mewins @mscregor_ewan You’re F***ING dead…”
The word ‘cuck’ refers to ‘cuckold’ which means the husband of an adulteress.
There is no proof that Mary Elizabeth was unfaithful to her husband during their marriage.
The account – followed by 6,747 people – also features intimate home pictures of the actress from during their marriage.
Ewan and Mary made their first appearance as a couple at the Golden Globes where he referenced both his wife and his girlfriend in an extraordinary speech.
