Will.i.am says he has lost more than a stone in a month after going vegan due to health fears.
The Voice judge, 42, overhauled his diet following a trip to the doctor when filming auditions stopped.
He said: “I weighed 15 stone. After we finished filming in December I went home, I became vegan, I biked to work and I lost 15lb.
“I decided to do it as I was heavy then. I went to the doctor because I had this cough I couldn’t kick.
“They said I had high blood pressure and high cholesterol. I was like, ‘Why am I having that?’.
“It is because I work and work and work and travel, travel, travel. I eat whatever I eat, I had no regiment in what I was eating.”
The Black Eyed Peas star went on: “I thought, ‘OK, I have to get this under control’. So I changed my diet, started working out more and lost the weight.
“The cholesterol is down as well but it runs in my family, and diabetes. So I want to get it under control now so I don’t have to worry about it later on.”
Will.i.am will be back as a coach on ITV’s The Voice on Saturday, alongside Sir Tom Jones , Jennifer Hudson and Olly Murs . Sir Tom, 77, said he was fully recovered from his hip replacement operation and also trying to stay in shape – in disguise.
The singer said: “I used to run until my knee started giving me a little trouble, so now I walk every day and I get in the gym and do stuff.
“It depends how much time I have but sometimes I would do about five miles… I get at least two miles in.
“I just put the cap on and the hood in London. Oh yeah, in disguise, and still people see me. Maybe it is the goatee.
“Then in the gym I do a bit of cross training. Breathing has a lot to do with singing, and if you are overweight and you have trouble breathing, that is going to effect your voice. You have got to try and keep fit.”
