Celebrity Big Brother 2018 has started, and there have been plenty of rumours swirling about the rumoured line-up.
Channel 5 as ever was keeping tight-lipped about the stars, but the cat is now officially out of the bag!
The first batch of housemates are women as CBB marks the centenary of the female vote in 1918.
But there’s due to be a few surprises as the series progresses, with men being chucked into the mix to stir up the dynamic.
Meet the CBB 2018 contestants:
Ann Widdecombe is in!
Controversial ex Tory MP Ann Widdecombe was the first to enter the Celebrity Big Brother house.
Sources exclusively revealed to the Mirror Online that the 70-year-old would be stepping into the house this evening after a last minute signing.
Known for her controversial and divisive opinions, the former Tory politician is pro Brexit and has made it clear she isn’t a fan of reality stars.
During her time in parliament she opposed the legality of abortion, inflamed the LGBT community after voting against lowering the age of consent and gave her support for the re-introduction of the death penalty.
She entertained viewers of Strictly Come Dancing in series 8 of the dancing show in 2010.
Ann was the ninth celebrity to be eliminated from the competition with her professional dance partner Anton Du Beke.
The pair finished in sixth place despite receiving the lowest score from the judges in seven of their ten weeks in the contest.
In January 2017, Ann appeared on Sugar Free Farm, alongside the likes of Alison Hammond, Stavros Flatley and Gemma Collins.
Malika Haqq has arrived!
Khloe Kardashian’s best pal Malika Haqq, 34, is in the house after being spotted at Heathrow Airport ahead of the show’s launch.
Malika, who has been close friends with Khloe Kardashian since they were 15, is believed to have been paid a “huge amount” to appear on the show.
This comes after Kim’s close pal, Jonathan Cheban, entered CBB in 2016 but ended up quitting after life in the house became too much.
Malika used to be Khloe’s PA but now appears on a number of reality TV series including Real Husbands of Hollywood, Dash Dolls and Hollywood Divas. She is also a brand ambassador of Pretty Little Things.
Her entrance into the CBB house has come at a perfect time for Kardashian fans, who will hope that Malika will let slip some gossip on the sisters’ pregnancies.
Rachel Johnson is in!
It’s more than just the blonde gene and a sense for gaffe-making that binds the Johnson family together: after dad Stanley’s stint in the jungle, daughter Rachel – the sister of Boris Johnson – has entered the CBB house.
The family that reality TVs together cleaves together, so it’s journalist Rachel who’s putting herself in the spotlight this time.
CBB announced on Christmas Eve the journalist was entering the house, tweeting: “We can confirm that journalist @RachelSJohnson will be one of the female Celebrity Big Brother housemates entering the House live at 9pm, Tuesday 2nd January on channel5_tv!”
Rachel is married to National Trust director Ivo Dawnay and has three children.
Ashley James is in!
Ashley, 30, is a model, presenter and DJ, living in London.
She has her own show on Hoxton Radio every Friday and has bee nominated for a number of awards.
Ashley rose to fame after appearing on E4 reality show Made in Chelsea in 2013.
And she’s also known for being linked to Little Britain star and Britain’s Got Talent judge David Walliams .
Ashley was spotted with the actor following his divorce from model Lara Stone in 2015.
It seems she may not be one to mess with in the house.
India Willoughby has entered the house!
The transgender newsreader is a regular guest on This Morning and Loose Women and is now set to get viewers talking as one of the CBB housemates.
She was born Jonathan Willoughby and presented ITV’s regional news in Carlisle for ten years as a man, before undergoing gender reassignment surgery in 2015.
India once told of the moment she knew she had to make the change, saying: “It was a job I loved a lot but unfortunately I had a secret. I was ignoring what I knew deep down, that I didn’t belong in that body.
“Growing up in the 1970s and 1980s I kept the secret deep within me. But in February 2010 I was interviewing a politician and caught sight of my reflection.
“I had slicked back hair, a sharp suit, and looked confident. Yet I stared at myself in disgust. This has got to stop, I thought. I need to be true to myself.”
She revealed that she felt suicidal in her old body and only avoided taking her own life by getting so drunk she passed out.
India has a teenage son named Rhodes.
Maggie Oliver is in!
Maggie was the central character in the programme Three Girls and its real life proceedings.
The Detective Constable was assigned as a witness protection officer to some of the vulnerable victims, helping them give evidence that would eventually bring their abusers to justice.
Nine men were convicted for their involvement in the sex ring which saw young women, one as young as 13, plied with alcohol and free food before being passed around for sex.
However, DC Oliver later resigned from Greater Manchester Police after claiming the force had failed the young victims and expressing concern about treatment of the vulnerable young women in the case.
Jess, 28, was born in Wandsworth, London in March 1989.
She’s dabbled in reality TV as well as acting, having appeared in Dangerous Game alongside former CBB housemate Calum Best.
Jess is perhaps best known for appearing on MTV reality show Ex on the Beach.
And while there are many reports that she’s engaged to rugby star Denny Solomona, Mirror Online understands that she recently split from the sportsman.
The pair haven’t shared any pictures of videos of each other lately, and she isn’t wearing a ring on any of her recent snaps.
Jess has a legion of make admirers though and recently stripped completely naked for her 2018 calendar.
Sales will probably go through the roof thanks to her CBB stint.
Jess also dated US actor Charlie Sheen.
She spoke out about the relationship in 2016 after Twitter trolls branded her “the AIDs girl”.
The HIV positive star hung out with reality TV beauty Jess during a recent visit to London when he was promoting his new condom range, and she was subject to vile online abuse after they were pictured together.
Speaking to the Daily Star Sunday, she said: “I have had tweets calling me a slag and saying ‘now you’ve got HIV’. And other people were calling me ‘AIDs Girl’.”
Jess, who was treated to beauty treatments by the actor, admitted she had a soft spot for him and that they had been texting every day and video calling since he’d flown back to the US.
Aged 82, actress Amanda will be one of the older housemates. Corrie fans will recognise her as Alma, who she played for more than two decades.
She is married to former journalist and novelist Hilary Bonner.
Amanda has certainly been through the wars. Just four when the Second World War broke out, she was obsessed with death as a child and ran away in her teens to be a London chorus girl.
Throughout her working life she suffered “tremendous anxiety” – and she spent years confused about her sexuality.
She dated Billy Fury in her early 20s, turning down his marriage proposal. Then in 1967, at 31, she wed theatre director Robin Hunter.
And the first man will be… John Barnes
Former England International football player turned pundit will enter the house on Friday.
The 54-year-old father of seven will be the first man to pass the all female house threshold.
The former Liverpool and England footballer, who became as well known for his rapping skills as his performances in midfield in the 1980s and 1990s.
And the rumoured housemates…
Charlotte Leslie was the MP for Bristol North West – until she lost her seat in June 2017’s snap election.
The pro-Brexit Tory is said to be earning a six-figure fee for her appearance.
The 39-year-old was once named the “sexiest MP in parliament” and is a keen swimmer.
A source told the Sun: “January’s series is all about strong, empowered women.
“Channel 5 bosses have been desperate to sign a female politician and are thrilled that they’ve managed to land Charlotte.”
However, when approached by Mirror Online, Channel 5 refused to comment on the speculation and confirmed that the full lineup won’t be revealed until launch night.
The ex-Coronation Street star has been in secret talks with Channel 5 bosses about signing up to CBB, the Mirror revealed earlier this month.
A show insider exclusively told us: “Producers have been arranging a meeting with Shobna’s agents in hope of getting her on the show next month.
“Nothing is confirmed yet but they’re very interested.”
Shobna played Sunita Alahan in Corrie between 2001 and 2006, and then again in 2009 to 2013, but is just as well known for playing Anita in Victoria Wood’s Dinnerladies.
The Made In Chelsea star has been part of the glossy west London set since 2011, making a splash with her doomed romances with bad boy Spencer Matthews and Andy Jordan.
She’s been with her personal trainer boyfriend Ryan Libbey since 2016 after her split from American Alik Alfus, and the pair became internet-famous for their smug coupley workout videos posted on Instagram – which quickly got parodied by Lou’s little brother Sam Thompson (a CBB alumnus).
Louise recently opened about about her secret battle with alcohol, admitting she used to drink until she blacked out when she first started on MIC because of her anxiety.
If she does go into the house, she’ll have to be careful not to annoy her housemates with her one bad habit – Ryan says he has to wear earplugs at night because she snores so loudly.
The former 80s popstar, best known for her hit single So Macho, used to date Simon Cowell and is now part of his hareem of adoring exes.
She’s been a regular advisor to Simon on The X Factor and famously stripped down to an outfit consisting of four carefully arranged palm leaves on the 2009 series.
Sinitta’s been rumoured for CBB for years, but in July 2017 she admitted her list of demands have so far put Channel 5 off from making an offer.
“I made reasonable, nice demands to make it nice for everyone,” she told Lorraine, confessing that she’d want a swearing ban in the house as well as a 24-hour personal security guard, visits with her dog, and to be given tequila whenever the housemates are drinking.
But she reckoned she wasn’t asking for the moon on a stick.
“They said my demands were ridiculous, but I thought they were reasonable,” she said.
“We wanted Scarlett [my dog] to be there because we’re very attached, she’s my baby. We’ve been talking for years and I think they’ll come around to my way of thinking.”
It was rumoured that the reality star would be heading into the famous residence when the show returns on January 2.
But she took to Twitter to deny her involvement just yesterday.
Now the telly favourite has U-turned and admitted she’s “so excited” to join CBB.
“I’m so happy right now, I’m in a great place,” she told the Sun .
“I’m going into Celebrity Big Brother next week and I’m so excited.”
And this morning it seems she’s sticking to her guns as she retweeted a fan wishing her luck.
“Can’t wait to watch u in # CBB so excited my luv. Cook up some rice peas n jerk chicken show yer house mates how its done (sic),” the fan Then Sandra made it very clear that she won’t be on the Channel 5 show.
However, she did express hopes that she may be snapped up by bosses one day and asked her fans to convince execs that she’d be a good addition.
Laura crashed into the public eye in August 2017 when she was found in the passenger seat of her own car – which was being driven by a drunk Wayne Rooney.
She was quoted as saying she would have slept with the Everton star had they not been pulled over by police, but later distanced herself from the comments, insisting they’d never kissed.
As the Mirror reported at the time, Laura set up her own paparazzi shot outside her nan’s house then went on This Morning to give a car crash interview about that night.
She’s since been linked to a £75,000 Celebrity Big Brother offer but is yet to confirm or deny the rumours.
Instead, she hit out at “mentally ill” critics and “opinionated little t***s” for slamming her for her partying ways, and insisted she only goes out on the nights her ex has their little girl, Lola.
Michelle Mone has reportedly been offered £350,000 to step into the Celebrity Big Brother house.
According to the Sun, bosses are hoping the billionaire bra tycoon will bring a touch of class to the all-female bungalow.
The lingerie entrepreneur, 46, could be swapping her life of luxury for food rations and daily tasks.
One of the ‘Peru Two’ drugs mules could find herself locked up again – this time inside the CBB house.
The 24-year-old Brit and pal Melissa Reid were jailed in 2013 after attempting to carry £1.5million of cocaine from Peru to Madrid.
Michaella and Melissa have been embracing their new-found freedom and enjoying the spotlight after being released last year.
C5 bosses were slammed earlier this year after rumours that the partners in crime would appear on the pairs-themed series.
But it wasn’t to be.
Talulah-Eve, 22, came to attention as the first transgender model to enter Britain’s Next Top Model in 2017.
Although she only lasted five episodes, she made an impression on viewers with her emotional response to her transition.
Born a boy and named Aaron, she revealed she felt “lonely and confused” for much of her childhood.
She was inspired to transition by Nadia Almada, the trans Big Brother housemate who won the series in 2004.
He’s not a woman, but Love Island’s Jonny has also been rumoured for next month’s Celebrity Big Brother.
It’s said that Channel 5 bosses snapped up the 26-year-old reality star after his split from Stephanie Pratt, to spice things up inside the house.
Producers hope he’ll be his typical flirtatious self and create sexual tension in the infamous surveillance house.
Andrew came to fame late last year in The Apprentice 2017, and quickly got himself in the headlines for having a fling with contestant Anisa Topan.
CBB bosses reportedly have their eye on him because of his reputation as a ladies’ man, and want to make sure he’ll have his pick of attractive women.
“Andrew made quite the impact on the show and became known for his laddish behaviour after sleeping with Anisa,” a source told the Sun.
“He admits to always being a bit of a playboy and that he went on the Apprentice to have a laugh.
“Lord Sugar won’t be keeping his eye on him in the CBB house so he’ll be free to really enjoy himself.”
American singer Ginuwine – real name Elgin Baylor Lumpkin – may have been one of the top-selling R&B artists in the 1990s, but he’s a little better known for his many, many children.
The musician, 47, has fathered nine children with five women, and now Channel 5 producers are hoping his appearance in the house will spark more romance.
Hoping to capitulate on his Made In Chelsea co-star Toff‘s success in the jungle, reality villain Spencer’s name has been thrown into the mix.
He famously dropped out of the I’m A Celebrity jungle just days into his stint when producers uncovered his abuse of steroid-type drugs, which he confessed he’d taken to feel more confident about his naked body.
Since then, Spencer has been quietly dating his The Jump co-star Vogue Williams and even became a (distant) part of the royal family in May 2017 when his older brother James Matthews married Pippa Middleton, the sister of the Duchess of Cambridge.
This cheeky chappy is best known for his carousing on Geordie Shore, and for his enduring friendship with Chloe Ferry, which has survived fancying the same boys and a LOT of booze.
Nathan was the first openly gay member of the cast and has been dating teacher Craig Richards since December 2015.
Rodrigo Alves, aka the Human Ken Doll
Rodrigo is a self-confessed plastic surgery addict, having gone under the knife for procedures on his cheeks, abs, bum, pecs and even eyeballs, spending somewhere in the region of $400,000 to look exactly like a Ken Doll.
He recently celebrated his 60th surgical procedure and says he next wants his ribs removed from his chest to give him a narrower frame.
Rodrigo was due to go into the CBB house in the summer of 2017, but had to pull out to have emergency surgery on his chin, nose and teeth.
Scott is one of the most famous men connected to the Kardashian family, having fathered three children with Kourtney Kardashian.
Their on-off relationship was a source of fascination to fans, but since their split in 2016 Scott has busied himself with a string of mystery women.
He’s currently dating Sofia Richie, who at just 19 is a whole 15 years younger than her reality beau.
Scott wouldn’t be the first KUWTK star to appear on the UK version of CBB – Jonathan Cheban did a stint in January 2016, but left just days into the series over ‘diva demands’ that weren’t being met by bosses.
What else do we know about CBB?
There’s going to be a brand new theme in the upcoming series.
A spokeswoman for the show explained: “This series with an all-female cast of celebrity housemates in a salute to a centenary of women’s suffrage on Channel 5.
“Presented by Emma Willis, Celebrity Big Brother will initially explore how the all-female housemates interact, from politicians to performing artists, as they enter the house first, ahead of the celebrity male housemates.
“Over the course of the series, as the male counterparts enter the house, the housemates will take part in a series of entertaining tasks and hidden experiments which will test their – and our – assumptions, challenge gender stereotypes and reveal fascinating truths about what it is to be a woman – and man – in the 21st century.
“See what happens when women hold the power, as Celebrity Big Brother January 2018 is set to be celebratory, surprising and insightful.”
Last year’s winner was Girl’s Aloud star Sarah Harding.
Celebrity Big Brother’s Bit On the Side will return weeknights with Rylan Clark-Neal.
