If you’ve ever tried to banish blackheads, you’ll know it can be a frustrating, difficult and, in many cases, seemingly impossible task.
But for one young woman, simply trying out a new skincare routine meant she was able to get rid of the dreaded dark blemishes in just WEEKS.
The woman has shared incredible before-and-after pictures of her nose to show the difference that the routine has made to her blackheads.
She says the astonishing images were taken only a month apart.
She has also revealed her step-by-step routine – including exactly which products she used to help banish the blackheads… and in what order.
Taking to Reddit earlier this month, the woman explained the steps she would previously take to try to unclog her pores – including using a ‘charcoal cleanser’.
She then went on to describe her new routine.
The first step is to “remove makeup with Lancôme Energie de vie cleansing oil”.
The second is to “exfoliate with NEOGEN Dermalogy Bio-Peel Gauze (green tea)”, before you “cleanse with Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser for all skin types”.
The fourth step is to “apply Differin to a clean and dry face”.
Then you “moisturise before toning with Aquafor Healing Ointment”.
The woman remarked: “This ointment works miracles.”
The sixth step involves toning with “Akaran Moisture Lotion”, while the seventh step was listed as “Occasional: The Face Shop sheet masks”.
The woman commented: “My skin has never been more supple or texture-less in my 22 years! HG routine for me, for sure.”
Other Reddit users were impressed by her transformation.
One remarked: “I’m going to try all this! My clogged pores on my nose and chin are so, so bad, it drives me nuts and nothing I’ve done has done the job.”
Another said: “Impressive!”
The woman, who grew up in East Asia, revealed how she “completely changed” her “skincare game” after starting Differin.
When asked why she tones after moisturising, she replied: “I wish I had an actual scientifically-backed answer to this, but my mother’s side is Korean, and I grew up in E. Asia; I’ve just been taught from 13 y.o to always moisturize first to lock in the moisture and then tone afterwards because toner is never as moisturizing.”
She added: “It’s worked for me; I went through a phase where I toned before (like everybody else lol) but I’ve always noticed that my skin was brighter and softer and more supple if I toned last, like my mom and grandma always taught me.”
Like the woman, it’s likely you’ve encountered a spot or two in your lifetime (unless you’re improbably blessed with good skin).
But what’s actually lurking inside of your blackheads and pimples?
