Elizabeth I may have said she had the body of a weak and feeble woman – but the body of work of the actress playing her includes Oscars, Golden Globes, Baftas and Emmys.

The queen turns up in the festive special of BBC2’s Upstart Crow to watch William Shakespeare (David Mitchell) perform his latest play.

In A Christmas Crow, he is worried about making the right impression and fears his play, titled Eighth Night during the show, might need some work.

Hopefully, this Elizabeth has the sense (and sensibility) to see his talent.
