Dec Donnelly admitted he “prefers” the new I’m A Celebrity spin-off line-up to last year’s presenters.
Extra Camp was back tonight with a new team of celeb hosts taking the helm, but Joe Swash managed to keep his role.
Reigning jungle queen Scarlett Moffat, her runner-up Joel Dommett joined the former EastEnders actor for the companion show.
Immediately after sitting down, Dec had a dig at Joe’s girlfriend Stacey Solomon and Vicky Pattison, who were not asked back for this series.
Dec said: “I much prefer you to all the people last year.”
Joe looked slightly taken aback by the remark, before claiming that “the only reason” he was still on the show was because of the Geordie duo.
Ant added: “I’m surprised you’re hear son if I’m being honest.”
The hosts will get all the latest behind the scenes gossip with unseen clips, exclusive interviews and the insiders’ guide to the dreaded Bushtucker Trials.
Viewers are invited to join the lively debates via social media and the app as well as putting their questions directly to the campmates live in the studio once they’ve left the Jungle.
The hosts will also be joined in Australia by various celebrity guests throughout the series.
Before the series started, the new presenting trio spoke about their roles on the show.
Scarlett said: “After last year’s Jungle experience which was a dream come true, I can’t believe I’m so lucky to have the dream continue by being part of this amazing show and joining the ITV2 Extra Camp team, it’s going to be so much fun.”
Joel added: “I’m unbelievably excited to be going back into the Jungle for Extra Camp. Ever since I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here got me out of there, I’ve been wanting desperately to get back in there. I can’t blooming wait!”
And Joe said: “I’m A Celebrity is always one of my favourite times of the year, I can’t wait to find out who is going in this year. I’m really looking forward to working with the new ITV2 Extra Camp team.”
