X Factor’s Grace Davies has told of her shame at being quizzed by police over a fight with a pal.
It emerged last week that the 20-year-old singer had a scrap with a boy in 2015 in a row about an iPad. Opening up about the episode, she said her “moment of madness” still plays on her mind.
Grace said: “There was an incident with a boy at college where I did completely lose my cool.
“It sounds so petty now but we weren’t getting on and a couple of people were winding me up and going through my belongings and things like that.
“On that day I just walked back into the classroom and I’d had enough. I saw red for five seconds and it’s absolutely something I’m not proud of.”
Grace’s admission comes after a pal of the boy wrote to show bosses, saying: “Grace has so much talent but she is such a disgusting person.” Police confirmed they were called to her college in Blackburn, Lancs, and said a “community resolution” was agreed.
Grace added: “I’ve never forgotten it and it has played on mind ever since. I apologised at the time and I still feel really sorry. It was a moment of madness.”
She said she spoke to mentor Sharon Osbourne about the fight, adding: “I don’t think I could ask for a better mentor. She’s very down to earth.”
Grace’s audition made Sharon and Nicole Scherzinger sob and last week’s cover of Bonnie Raitt’s I Can’t Make You Love Me was equally emotional. Grace said she identified with the song as she was “infatuated” with someone for six years.
Meanwhile, she was rumoured to have had a fling with show rival Matt Linnen, 28, which she denied.
